Edwin Valero’s Career Roadblocks

Posted on Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 by admin

Before Edwin Valero began his professional career he had a major accident while riding a motorcycle when he was not weaning the safety helmet last February 5, 2001. This severe accident resulted in to a fractured skull and which Valero required to have a surgery to remove a blood clot that’s caused by the motorcycle accident. Because this accident was prior to his professional boxing career it had resulted in the major boxing bodies sanctioning his matches especially in the USA. Last January 17, 2003, it was said that Valero’s Venezuelan doctor cleared him to fight again. Since then Edwin Valero turned professional that year in the month of July sinking his first of his straight 18 round one knockout.

Edwin Valero almost had the career break when he signed-in after his 12th professional fight under the Golden Boy Promotions. He was suppose to appear on HBO’s Boxing After Dark but he failed an MRI because of a brain scan irregularities in New York last January 2004 resulting him to be banned from fighting in the USA. Today Valero still continues to fight outside the United States but he will not be allowed to fight there until he is medially cleared that is authorized by a state athletic commission. Edwin Valero lives with his children and Wife in Tokyo Japan and has then decided to make Japan one of his base operations in his boxing career.
