I recentley saw the last figth of Edwin thru a locall network here in Florida, did not know much about “inca” but his style of boxing aggressive, going foward with out fear. May me an instant fan, never passed thru my mine that ,it was going to be the last time I was going to see him fight alive and that the word of boxin specially the fans were going to be deprived of his greatness so soon and the sad and tragic way we lost him. Venezuela has somebody very speciall and the boxin fans somebody unable to be replace. Rest in peace “Inca”.

I became a big fan once I learned of him several years ago. I hopped he would be given the chance to face the big names soon and little by little he was getting there. As a true fan of his work in the ring, I was crushed to find out what happened. I hate to even think what could have… or what should have…
RIP

isa sa pinakmagaling na boksingero! bilang isang boxing fanatic ay siya inaasahan kung pantapat kay Manny Pacquiao para sa isang magandang laban higit kay Mayweather

Only time I ever saw the ‘Inca’ fight was against Antonio Demarco where all but 20 people in the arena were wildly and enthusiastically supporting Demarco. Edwin overcame a cut on his right cheek in the first round as well as a small cut to his left eyelid together with a massive gash on the left side of his forehead in round 2. Yet he relentlessly pursued the hometown Mexican fighter with such skill, power, and speed that eventually Demarco retired in his corner after round 9. Valero so completely dominated the 23-1-1 Mexican fighter that I am convinced his performance that night was as good as any lightweight ever produced. He fought without fear, proudly but without vanity. The world has lost a magnificent champion whose career was like a shooting star. As a boxing official for many years I will selfishly miss seeing him in the ring. His family, neighbors, friends and relatives have been cheated out of the greatness that was before him. Rest in peace, Inca.

In January of 2010 was when I first heard of Edwin Valero. I was impressed with the record of 18 1st round KO’s and all wins coming by way of KO. I also observed his excellent style of fighting,Edwin possessed a vicious right or left hand punches that could easily knock down a wall. His non stop combat forward movement combined with excellent boxing skills qualify him as a world class champion. Edwin Valero would have beaten both Pacquiao and Mayweather.
