Floyd Mayweather Jr. VS Juan Manuel Marquez, “Numero Uno”

The match is set on July 18, 2009 and will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Undefeated and arguably the best pound for pound boxer (if only Manny Pacquiao didn’t deserve to be called that way), Floyd Mayweather Jr. comes back from retirement to prove that he is the king, the real cash cow in boxing, and the best pound for pound boxer today. He will face the man that almost defeated Pacquiao and gave him a hard time, Juan Manuel Marquez who most hardcore boxing fans and analyists believe Marquez won both fights. We all know that Marquez is capable of doing some serious damage to that undefeated streak of Mayweather Jr. but we also know that Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. didn’t return to the boxing scene just for fun and he means serious business only.

We can expect that this match will be an instant classic and could be perhaps one of the greatest matches in boxing history. Whether it be a knockout or a decision match, it will surely be an extreme war between the two. We at edwinvalero.net are expecting a 12-round decision match and we think it is better to see a boxing match or fight of this magnitude  in that way. We can still remember how we regretted the fact that Ricky Hatton only lasted two rounds of what was expected to be a pretty long boxing fight. We can only hope that both Mayweather Jr. and Marquez won’t disappoint us whoever wins and becomes the worlds pound for pound Numer Uno.

What makes this match even more exciting is the fact that whoever wins the fight and #1 world status, has a great chance to face popular HBO star Manny Pacquiao next. And whether it be Juan Manual Marquez or Floyd Mayweather Jr., it will surely make the world pause in unison as we unite again to watch a historic fight that is yet to unfold.

The highly anticipated 12-round welterweight showdown between boxings #1 pound for pound fighter in the world Floyd Mayweather Jr. and boxings #2 Juan Manuel Marquez has been officially rescheduled for September 19, 2009. after Mayweather, who suffered a rib injury while training for the originally scheduled July 18 date, received clearance from his doctor to participate on the new date. Mayweather vs. Marquez: “Number One/Numero Uno,” which will still take place at MGM Grand in Las Vegas and be televised live on pay-per-view.

I hope this is not another Castillo/Mayweather 1 fight(where Mayweather got his ass beat but got the decision) to set up a “big money” fight with Pacquiao. Mayweather has great defensive skills and a great counter puncher. Marquez has in many eyes beat Pacquiao twice. If the fight is clean and Joe Cortez is not the referee, I see Marquez in a decicion. The worst opponent for Pacquiao is Marquez or Valero. Loser should fight Valero and the winner of the Valero vs. Mayweather/Marquez should get the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather/Marquez winner. DAMN I should be a promoter……

This fight will be an espectacular battle between two great boxers, Marquez is a mexican warrior who has defeated the best boxers in the world like Juan Diaz, Joel Casamayor and Marco Antonio Barrera, also in my opinion he defeated pacquiao in the two fights which they have had, and, on the other side, we have Mayweather, the best pound by pound in the world, but he will be defeated in the fight next september by Marquez.

MONEY MAY will doesn’t somehthing PACMAN failed to do twice, beat the p!ss out of Marquez. Marquez and Pac aren’t in the same league as MONEY MAY.
