On ESPN2 Friday Night Fights at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas,Nevada,USA:  Breidis Prescott(21-0, 18 KO’s) of Barranquilla,Atlantico,Colombia faught Miguel Angel “Titre” Vazquez(25-3-12KO’s) from Guadalajara,Jalisco,Mexico in the main event.
The weights were: Breidis Prescott 137pounds vs. Miguel Vazquez 136pounds
26 year old Prescott has a 86% KO record and scored his most notable win as a first round KO against previously unbeaten Amir Khan(20-1-15 KO’s) at the M.E.N. Arena, Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom back in September 6-2008.
22 year old Vazquez has only lost 3 times to current undefeated fighters and Prescott was his most notable win. Vazquez’s most notable opponents to date are the Undefeated Timothy Ray “Desert Storm” Bradley Jr.(24-0-11) where Bradley handed Vazquez his second loss via 10 round unanimous decision back in July 27-2007 and the Undefeated Saul “Canelo” Alvarez(24-0-20 Ko’s) who delivered Vazquez his first loss back in Jan 20-2009 via split decision on what was Vazquez’s pro debut, Alvarez also gave Vazquez his third loss via unanimous decision back in June 6-2008.
Miguel “Titre” Vazquez is managed by welterweight Antonio “Tijuana Tornado” Margarito and has never been stopped.
From the bell in round one Prescott appeared to be the faster man scoring a first round flash knockdown with a stiff left jab when the Referee Joe “fair but firm” Cortez gave Vazquez the mandatory 8 count with 55 seconds leftin the round. As things resumed Vazquez a fighter from the Margarito stable spoiled prescotts wild punches with his jab and akward movement also with higher punch output and connect ratio. Vazquez was able to outclass prescott into frustration with his tactical bag of tricks he learned in the gym. This was a dominating win for Vazquez, schooling the previously unbeaten 5′11′ tall prescott that had wanted to seek a fight with WBC champion Edwin Valero, a fight that fell through when Valero, fresh off his win from Pitalua was targeting other names.
At the end of the tenth round lightweight fight Prescott had a badly swollen eye. the score cards read as follows:

Judge Duane Ford    = 95-94(Vazquez)
Judge Jerry Roth      = 96-93(Vazquez)
Judge Dave Morreti  = 97-92(Prescott)

Punch stats               =160-462(Vazquez)     98-477(Prescott)

Official Verdict       =  Miguel Angel “Titre” Vazquez(25-3-12KO’s) winner by split decision..

Edwin Valero. You are a chicken. That was supposed to be you fighting Breidis Prescott. You let someone else fight him for you because you knew that you have been knocked out.
