Nehomar Cermeno retires Mijares!

At the Arena Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico :the undefeated 29 year old Venezuelan Nehomar Andres Cermeno(18W-0L-10KO’s) from Barcelona, Venezuela faught 27 year old former unified super flyweight champion  -Christian Ricardo Lucio Mijares(36W-6L-2D-15KO’s) from Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico in a 12 round fight for the interim WBA world bantamweight title.

This fight inwich is a rematch as both fighters have allready met in the ring back in march -2009 where Nehomar prevailed in a split decision in that first fight. this fight was no different, rather more clear victory for the venezuelan.
christian Mijares came into this fight ranked #3 by the WBA despite his 2 losses coming in and one of wich to the great Vic Darchinyan.
Nehomar Cermeno was able to outwork Mijares and cut both his eyes in a clear victory.
the scores were 117-111, 116-112, 116-122 all for Nehomar Cermeno. Mijares has since announced retirement.

Official verdict: Nehomar Cermeno winnner by way of 12 round unanimous decicion to retain the interin WBA world bantamweight title.
